The federal historic tax credit has been quietly and effectively breathing new life into historic buildings and revitalizing communities for more than 30 years.

You may never have heard of it, but you’ve seen what it can do. Consider Washington, DC’s Union Station, the Ferry Building in San Francisco and the Apollo Theater in New York City. These iconic structures and 38,700 others were revived with the help of the historic tax credit—preserving our nation’s heritage while generating 2.3 million jobs, attracting more than $106 billion in private investment and revitalizing neighborhoods.

Now the historic tax credit program and its positive impacts are threatened by cuts or possible elimination by Congress. We don’t have to stand for this. Sign our pledge and join the fight to save the historic tax credit -- because it works. For more information, visit www.preservationnation.org/taxcredits.
