Labor Day Events in NJ
If you, like most people, will be staying around this Labor Day, then here are some Events in NJ you might want to check out.
There are celebrations and events all through NJ from up north in Budd Lake at the Scanfest, a Scandinavian Festival, to south in Woodstown at the Delaware Valley Bluegrass Festival.
On the NJ Leisure Guide website you will find a lot of places to go and get away, yet stay close enough to head home and sleep in your own bed!
There are many fireworks displays, craft shows, and even Monmouth Park is having a weekend BBQ festival with wine tasting and fun for the whole family. For a $3 admission it's certainly affordable AND kids under 12 are free!
At the Silver Diner (family friendly) Car Show in Cherry Hill, you can get some exercise looking around at lots of old and fancy cars. If you really want some exercise there are a number of 5K races, one in Ocean City that you can relax on the beach after the race!
Many parades throughout the state are planned, so hopefully Mother Nature will agree to "shower" the onlookers with lots of sun and fun.
The many parks throughout our state offer BBQ areas, fields to play, and trees to hang out in the shade. Enjoy them, as most are free.
Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.
Over the years this holiday has evolved from a being a labor union celebration into a celebration of the unofficial end of summer, especially for families with kids.
This Labor Day, try to make some time and relax, try to enjoy what our great state of New Jersey has to offer!
